The curriculum is a blend of several curriculums. We use the "Hands-On" bible curriculum from Group Publishing for our religious education. Each week is a new simple Bible story. From August to Christmas the stories are from the Old Testament. Christmas on are stories from the New Testament. Children take home the story of the week.

The teachers have been trained in “Food Friends” and “Mighty Moves”, a curriculum from the Colorado State University that teaches healthy choices and habits in eating and exercise.

The teachers have also been trained in the “Pyramid Plus Module” for teaching social and emotional competence.

We use assessments from "Creative Curriculum" and "Ages and Stages" for gauging development in toddlers through preschool age.

Finally, we have a Montessori influence through merging with an in-home child care center. We have many of the Montessori materials and implement the pre-reading skill developments.

Open Arms plans to pursue accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children. This organization provides high standards in childcare and guidelines to achieve these tandards. To find out more about this organization, visit their website at

Severe Weather Closings - Open Arms will follow the Summit County public school severe weather closing guidelines. Any closing will be broadcast on Krystal 93 radio. If it becomes necessary to close early, we will contact the parent or their emergency contacts. The child’s pick-up is the parent's responsibility to arrange. A staff member will stay on duty until all children are picked up.
